Man has become indifferent to Mother Nature
Indeed,
man has been busy in fulfilling his own needs and thus has been indifferent to
all other, than him. Thus, adapting this kind of nature he has not exploited
the Mother Nature alone in acquiring the naturally occurring exploitable
materials around him but even has exploited and has become indifferent to his own human
nature.
At
here, I would deal with both these aspects viz.
1)
Physical World
[1]
and
2)
Intrinsic
qualities of Human Behaviour.[2]
Man has become indifferent to the Nature (Physical World) and thus
a loser.
There are three truly
beautiful scenes in nature. These include the sky, the forest, and the ocean. These
are all very beautiful and interesting scenes to look at.
Sky (Air):- The first thing people see, in the
morning, when they walk outside is the sky or the colored sun. Is this world
giving us the privilege of seeing the natural colors of the sun through all the
layers of pollution within the air? The smog covers the cities and is smelled
by the traveller miles before the city appears. This smog
is also responsible for the acid rain. This drastic form of air will be no
longer but death as described in the verses below:-
Then
the sky turned red,
toxins
over head,
everybodies
dead,
The question arises that "Is
it fair to the children of the future to have to suffer the consequences of
pollution caused by us now?" Factories and business owners have the ability
to prevent air pollution, if they feel the need of it; they can curb their
greed and hunger accordingly.
Forest (Land and Minerals):- Forests are considered
as a valuable resource. They provide us with wood to build homes and paper to
communicate. With a constantly growing population, the need for homes becomes
greater and thus the supply of wood must also increase. The real choice that
should be analyzed is "the forest or your home". Many alternate forms
of building materials are phased into the system as need be, but the need for
wood will always exist. Knowing that the world will continue to cut down trees
and would extract all the naturally occurring exploitable materials, now-a-days
the Earth has been facing many environmental problems such as ground shaking
and land sliding leading into earthquakes, Tsunamis, fire, miasma etc. The only
solution to the forest depletion is reforestation by the acknowledgement and by
making available the alternate materials to the users and manufacturers using
wood.
Water (Ocean):- Today’s man utilizes a
number of harmful chemicals in his daily life, which is in any way or form transported
to water, which turns the water non-consumable. This is the only reason for the
decrease in the number of the marine bodies but with them there are many
adverse effects caused by the consumption of this polluted water to human
beings. Many of the waterborne diseases are the outcome of this pollution. The
big rivers, lakes, reservoirs, etc. have taken the unknown opacity, odor and
taste which were never thought for them. Their state have been so worsened that
there are hardly any hopes for their recovery to their original state. Aren’t
we responsible for many of the animals, who are at the merge of extinction, to
be extinct due to the consumption of this polluted water? Isn’t this our
responsibility to stop the pollution of water and not let other animals to
suffer the effect of a cause caused by us? Can’t we repay for the mistake that
we did and polluted the nature gifted precious water? We should join our hands
together and fight bravely against the pollutant factories. But alas!! We
should instead stop and make bio-gas plants and find other alternatives to
lessen the pollution in water. Till the people aren’t felt the need of
lessening the water pollution, no concrete steps can be taken to minimize the
water pollution.
These different scenes of
nature are very intriguing. Whether it is the sky, the forest, or the ocean one
may enjoy them anytime of the year day or night. But alas!! Is it possible for
modern man to enjoy nature in its true, natural form? Does the today’s man have
the privilege to relish the beauties of nature, after exploiting it? But sadly,
the seemingly hapless and helpless nature can now only persevere. Hence a
modern man has become a loser in this manner.
The Prophet Mohammed (S.A)
said that “A tradesman is a miscreant and a miscreant is in hell except one who
deals properly according to the Shariyah”. Hence it is very clear in Islam that
one should be contented by what he has and got. He should not cross his limits
and shouldn’t be driven by his greed, extravagance, lust, pride, and envy. By
doing so he would by no means exploit or harm in any way or form his Mother
Nature.
Man has become indifferent to the Nature
(Human Behaviour) and thus a loser.
Being
selfish in acquisition of the wealth, modern man has abandoned the divine
qualities of truthfulness and sincerity. Today’s man has deformed his
personality that was opted to be his personality but has adopted the new form
of personality, opposite to the personality that was opted to be. Where are
virtues like mercy, forgiveness, candor, honesty, caring, contentment,
cooperativeness, fairness, helpfulness, justice, kindness, loyalty, patience,
self-control, temperance, prudence, fortitude, etc.? Haven’t we altered and stabbed
ourselves by destroying both Mother Nature and human nature and hit our own
legs by the axe and then were left wounded and dumbfounded? Hence, haven’t
today’s men have been loser by rejecting this human nature.
We
can learn a lot of human behavioural values and virtues from the nature itself.
Nature is a
powerful element, teaching us to focus on different aspects of life, like
forgiveness. Nature is a replica for forgiveness. Man continues to do impudent
things and nature continuously forgives us even though we may be unable to
forgive ourselves. Thus in order to achieve the vanished human qualities we
have to respect, revere, and admire the Mother Nature and thus gain from it our
opted intrinsic qualities of human behavior.
